Khalil Alashar

About

A dancer par excellence budding from the little island in the Persian Gulf called Bahrain, Khalil Alashar has been able to grasp the authenticity and professionalism in Kathak in a very short span. 

His talent and dedication made him excel in his passion allocating him performances and workshops internationally.

Education & Training

Khalil Alashar started his Kathak training in 2008 under his Guru, Smt. Prachi Dixit. Khalil also got immense training under the duet Maulik Shah & Ishira Parikh at Anart Foundation, Ahmedabad.

Holding an MA in Dance (Kathak) from Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune and BA in Religious Studies from California State University, Long Beach, Khalil is continuing his Kathak training under Guru Tejaswini Sathe.

Khalil Alashar has also completed the Sangeet Prabhakar from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad and Sangeet Visharad (4th year) from Pracheen Kala Kendra.

Dance Teacher​

• 2017 - present: teaching Kathak to dedicated and enthusiastic students in Bahrain, at Tatkaar School of Kathak. Khalil teaches a structured curriculum that nurtures students carefully. Students prepare for performances and can earn a diploma in Kathak from Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Pune. 

• 2013 - 2016: Khalil began teaching under the guidance of his Guru Smt. Prachi Dixit at Nupur Academy LA. Khalil was teaching classes from the beginner to advanced levels and acted as the Secretary to the Board of Directors.
